Disney & Verizon team up on a mobile vacation application

Disney has teamed up with Verizon Wireless to build an application to be downloaded to your cell phone.  With this relationship, Verizon Wireless network coverage and capacity in the park will be boost. The benefits beyond “Can You Hear Me Now” , will also be GPS-based location services.

I have been working on a similar project/s for quite some time now with. If anyone would like to contact me on becoming a beta tester or provide some input in developing similar “Disney Parks” applications, email me or leave a comment.

The Disney Parks mobile application will be available sometime in 2009.

Teen summer days: on the cell phone

Potentially forsaking lazy-day activities like cartoons or bike rides, teens are on the cell phone a whopping 3 hours and 45 minutes a day during the summer, according to a survey released Tuesday by Disney Mobile and research firm Harris Interactive. The Storm - The Next Day.

Last night, my mom came home from her trip to Ohio and we stayed over a friend’s house.  Today, we contacted insurance for the house and the cars.  My sister help drive us around to take care of what needed to be done. We stop by the house for my family hadn’t seen the damage yet.  The fire department help accompany us into the house since I was told last night that no one was allowed to enter.

Inside our house. The Living Room in devastation.

We were able to pack up some clothes and some items to take with us.  The insurance company had made arrangements for us to stay in a hotel which allowed dogs.  Who knows how long we’ll be staying here.

The Storm

Inside the house.

Try to find my car.

The Backyard.

The Frontyard.

On Sunday, July 2, 2006, a tree fell through the roof of my house while the dog and I were in it! We were upstairs watching TV and suddenly there was a huge storm. This huge storm was called a "wind burst" by the TV meteorologists after the fact.

As you can see from the photos I posted, a tree from our backyard was uprooted, picked up, moved, and then fell from the backyard to the front yard. The damage included: the back porch, kitchen, dining room, living room, front porch, 2 cars in the driveway and electrical wires down.

The fire department came and escorted the dog and I out of the house. Thank God nobody was hurt!
